Here is an interesting case of a man by the name of Pravin, who is 45 years old and works in the catering industry. He is my neighbour and we say hello to each other when we meet in the society, but beyond that, we didn’t have much contact. Of late I had noticed Pravin looking distracted and worried and caught up in his own thoughts.
One day I saw him walking with his head down looking dejected, so I went up to him and said, “ Hello, how are you doing? You look a bit down, is there anything I could help you with?” He looked up and tried to smile and shook his head. I continued to say a couple more general sentences to him as we were going up on the same lift. Just as I was about to get down from the lift, he stopped me and said, “ Doctor, you guessed correctly. I do have a problem which I would like to discuss with you, but I cant talk about it here. I will come to your clinic tomorrow after office. I told him to come by 6 pm and I got out on my floor.
Next day Pravin came to my office at the appointed time and initially looked a bit embarrassed, but after a few minutes of conversation, he began to tell me what was bothering him. He said that he had been married for nearly 18 years and had a 16-year-old son, but never had a such a problem before. He was suffering from premature ejaculation and couldn’t understand why he was having this problem now when he didn’t have it earlier. He had been working hard all his life, struggling to get established in his business and become financially stable. Finally, now that he was stable and had some time to relax and enjoy his life, he started having this problem of premature ejaculation.
I asked him about his lifestyle and health parameters and he said that he was a vegetarian who did not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. He had no urinary complaints or constipation but occasionally suffered from gases. He had never got himself tested for Diabetes or Hypertension but felt that he was overall quite fit.
After talking to him in detail and asking him many questions about his lifestyle, job, and other activities, I was able to diagnose that he was suffering from this problem of premature ejaculation due to spending long hours in a very hot space in front of a fire because of his catering business. Premature ejaculation is the leading complaint about the individuals who work in a hot environment like catering business, chefs, truck/bus drivers, wielding workers, bakery workers etc. Heat damages the testicles & lead to premature ejaculation.
We prescribed medicines for heat damages. He took treatment from me for 45 days and is now completely free of this problem. He is happy and content and looking forward to happy years ahead!
